Classes are Monday - Thursday
(no classes on Fridays' during the summer)

3 Levels of Instruction (Basic, Intermediate, High Level) - no TOEFL score required

Reasonable Tuition: $1,500 (includes health insurance, orientation, summer lunch party,
and summer field trip)

The Language Academy (ECLA) is a premier intensive English program located on the campus of El Camino College (Torrance, California).  ECLA's staff and instructors provide quality instruction so that all of our students gain confidence, competence, and a connection to English, a connection to a new country and to become a part of the ECC campus.  We look forward to meeting you!

 

A welcome message from Dr. Nishime, Vice President Student & Community Advancement International students are a welcome addition to the El Camino College (ECC) student body! ECC already has a wonderful diversity of students from many cultures and nationalities which make our international students feel very comfortable when they arrive on campus.  After you complete your English language studies, I hope you will consider staying at ECC to complete your Associate of Arts/Science degree or to prepare for transfer to a university.  Whatever your educational goal, ECC is a great place to begin.  The staff, faculty and administration are here to guide you and to make your experience at ECC and in Southern California one you will remember for a lifetime!

 

 

• Sample Class Schedule - ECLA classes are from 1pm - 5pm . . . Monday through Thursday
  Fridays are TOEFL preparation classes from 10:30am to 1:30pm - TOEFL prep classes are part
  of the ECLA program.

• DO YOU HAVE A PASSING TOEFL SCORE?

If you already have a TOEFL score of 450 PBT or 45-46 on iBT or higher, a TOEIC score of 620 or higher, 
an IELTS score of 4.5 or higher, or an EIKEN (STEP) score of 2A or higher, you are eligible to apply
for an academic program at El Camino College.  Please visit the International Student Program website for more information.
