GRADUATION

Students will be able to understand the graduation process and apply by the deadline.

Admissions Office Regular business hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday:  9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday:   9:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Graduation Intents and Petitions For Certificates:

Filing period for Fall 2014:  September 2, 2014 through October 10, 2014
Forms will be available online during this period.
Graduation Intents and Petitions for Certificates must be filed in the Admissions office by the deadline. Late requests will not be considered.

Some Advice:

Prior to filing the Intent to Graduate and/or the Petition for a Certificate, it is highly advisable you see a counselor before your final term at El Camino College. This will ensure that you meet the requirements for your degree and/or certificate.

The Musts!

  • Have all official transcripts from former college(s) on file at El Camino College. Failure to provide these transcripts can delay your graduation intent and prevent you from graduating in the semester you selected.  Please note that the college does not accept hand carry or unofficial transcripts.  Official transcripts must be mailed from the former college(s) to El Camino College Admissions and Records Office.
  • Complete the form legibly, accurately, and completely. Missing or illegible information will slow the processing of your intent or petition.
  • Meet the published deadline as found in the class schedule. If you do not submit your request(s) in the Admissions office by the published deadline, your Intent or Petition will be delayed by a semester.

Graduation forms to apply for graduation and/or Certificates of Achievement or Certificates of Accomplishment are available in the Admissions Office and online. Fall graduation intents are available beginning the first Tuesday in September and ends the second Friday in October.  Spring graduation intents are available the first Monday in January and ends the second Friday in February. For specific deadline dates, please contact the evaluations area in Admissions.

The graduation ceremony is always held on the last day of the Spring semester at 4 p.m.  Degrees for Summer, Fall, and Spring graduates for the current academic year are mailed in September.  An academic year consists of Summer, Fall, and Spring terms; for example, Summer 2013, Fall 2013, and Spring 2014.
