Spanish 1 Consistency Project

Overview

The Spanish 1 Consistency Project was designed to increase student success through faculty collaboration in addressing the challenges of adhering to the official course outline of record (COR) and applying consistent standards of rigor and assessment.  Faculty worked together to design common assessment tools and grading criteria for SLO evaluation. The first workshop included a review of Spanish 1 statistics and the establishment of academic and cultural content. The second workshop focused on norming and included practicing using common assessment tools and rubrics. The third was about sharing the spring 2015 SLO evaluation results and included the adoption of a new textbook.  Both Compton and adjunct faculty were included in all workshops.  The project, which will be followed by Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 Consistency Projects, will be repeated in 2017.
